Associate Director for Content, Community Media BRIC Arts | Media | Bklyn is an arts and media non-profit that presents performing arts, contemporary art, and community media programs that are reflective of Brooklyn?s creativity and diversity. BRIC also provides resources to launch, nurture and showcase artists and media makers. We advance access to and understanding of arts and media by presenting free and low-cost programming, and by offering education and other public programs to people of all ages. BRIC is the community access television organization for the borough of Brooklyn. Our community media programs offer Brooklyn residents the opportunity to air programming on four cable television channels, free access to media production equipment and facilities, and low-cost media education classes. On our channels and web site, we air community-produced Brooklyn Free Speech TV, as well as Brooklyn Independent Television, programming focused on Brooklyn and produced in-house by BRIC.BRIC is beginning a growth phase of community media programs and we are creating several new management positions to help us lead this growth. The Associate Director for Contentwill oversee development of a curated programming strategy, as well as all curated video content creation, both in-house and with partner organizations Duties Oversee strategic planning for the growth of BRIC?s content, on up to 9 television channels and a new digital platform, including programming and scheduling. Develop a programming strategy for tv and online video coverage of Brooklyn in education, the arts, civic institutions and involvement, public affairs, business, health care, sports and other aspects of life in Brooklyn. Oversee in-house program creation, including planning and assessment. Oversee development of new content creation and acquisition initiatives, including partnerships with media organizations and collaboration with youth media initiatives Collaborate on a grant/mentorship program for non-profit organizations to produce content for BRIC?s tv and digital platforms. Work collaboratively with marketing team to maximize viewership and identify public interests Work collaboratively with public service, education, and technology staff to promote goals for the community media program. Qualifications Visionary thinker to lead a growth initiative Significant experience in television and/or digital content development Strong knowledge of and commitment to Brooklyn Bachelors or masters degree in journalism or a related field. Experience in developing local journalism ventures Five years experience in a supervisory capacity. Motivated self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills. Familiarity with public access television is a plus. Schedule/Salary Full-time position with full benefits package. Salary approximately $90-$100K depending on experience.
