BRIC Arts | Media | Bklyn Job Posting Associate Director for Free Speech Services, Community Media BRIC Arts | Media | Bklyn is an arts and media non-profit that presents performing arts, contemporary art, and community media programs that are reflective of Brooklyn?s creativity and diversity. BRIC also provides resources to launch, nurture and showcase artists and media makers. We advance access to and understanding of arts and media by presenting free and low-cost programming, and by offering education and other public programs to people of all ages. BRIC is the community access television organization for the borough of Brooklyn. Our community media programs offer Brooklyn residents the opportunity to air programming on four cable television channels, free access to media production equipment and facilities, and low-cost media education classes. On our channels and web site, we air community-produced Brooklyn Free Speech TV, as well as Brooklyn Independent Television, programming focused on Brooklyn and produced in-house by BRIC.BRIC is beginning a growth phase of community media programs and we are creating several new management positions to help us lead this growth. The Associate Director for Free Speech Services will oversee community producer public services and adult education programs. Duties Oversee the customer service aspect of community media, to promote a positive experience for community producers in receiving the services BRIC offers. Oversee all use of the media center by community producers, including orientation, registration, reservations, scheduling, equipment usage. Oversee management of the adult education program, including course planning and assessment. Oversee implementation of BRIC?s expansion plan as it relates to producer services, including off-site services. Oversee use of community producer database and play a lead role in planning for a new database application. Supervise public service and education staff. Oversee community media physical plant and security protocols. Develop and update rules and policies for community producers? use of community media services; oversee compliance with BRIC rules; intervene in disputes and take disciplinary action when needed. Assist in developing goals and assessment measures for public services; prepare reports on outcomes. Work collaboratively with other community media and BRIC central staff; assist with and make suggestions for marketing, technology and distribution. Qualifications Bachelors degree in a related field. Experience in a management capacity, supervising staff in a customer service setting, and providing project management leadership. Experience with client database management, customizing a database for a specific operation and using data to assess outcomes. Experience training staff on customer service skills and handling customer problems and complaints. Motivated self-starter with excellent interpersonal, writing and organizational skills. Familiarity with public access television is a plus. Schedule/Salary Full-time position with full benefits package. Salary low $70?s depending on experience.
